Eternal bounce

I had the privilige to jump around on huge trampolines this other day, and we humans sure have the most fun when we’re the least cool lol.

That’s why kids just rock this life all day long, they know how to make a fool of themselves without feeling like fools, that’s wisdom man!

Anyway, back to being an adult for a sec. I’ve been thinking about what really matters lately, like I always do, while feeling dissapointed at some things in my life. I finally watched a tv show about death, just to get on the edge of things, when I realised that Jesus, I have Jesus! And that is seriously all I need now and forever, what a privilige for real.

It’s so easy to get stuck in performance anxiety and measure your worth depending on your good work, how many friends you have or what kind of family you have. Social media and the world in general is all about showing off in a way to claim our worth, this text from the a C.S. Lewis plan about creativity on the Bible app says it all:

Ever since Adam and Eve bit into the forbidden apple in the Garden of Eden, we have been trying to cover up our sin nature, not with fig leafs, but with our accomplishments. We think that if we become a millionaire, sign a record deal, get 100,000 Instagram followers, or write a classic novel like The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, then we’ll be able to mask our human condition. Essentially, we use our work as a means of saving ourselves.

But as Christians, we know that the work of salvation is complete and that brings an entirely different motivation to our work! Because Jesus said, “It is finished,” we no longer have to use our work as a means of saving ourselves. Like Lewis, the gospel frees us to create for the pure joy of creating, not seeking fortune or fame, but the fame of the One who has called us to create.

This text made me drop my prestige today and the one and only thing I feel proud of is my relationship with Jesus Christ, it’s the greatest privilege and I need nothing else in order to overcome death and misery. If I do happen to feel creative, be around loving people or jump on trampolines though I’m just gonna enjoy! Which reminds me of this part of the same C.S. Lewis plan that blew my mind:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 NKJV
The first thing God revealed about Himself in Scripture is not that He is loving, holy, omnipotent, gracious, or just. No, the first thing God showed us is that He is creative! For the first six days, God revealed His creative spirit by speaking stars, animals, and oceans into existence. Then, on the sixth day, He created man “in His own image” and called Adam to create, thus reflecting God’s image to the world.

It’s just awesome to have a creative Creator, and to be able to live in his awesome creation. It’s a bit scary too, sure, but the excitement overweights the suffering most of the time. Anyway, prestigeless is ny new keyword to live by, and I know it doesn’t work as well in English but in Swedish it pretty much means to be without pride.

I just feel that since I’m subordinate to the most creative Creator, I don’t care about the rest as long as I’m together with Him. Sounds crazy cool huh, just kidding, it’s awesome. With that said that’s the only pride I have in life, so there’s no need to try to show off in any other way. It’s just me and Him and a few other nerds around the world waiting for the next adventure.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25‭-‬26 NKJV
